About Acal

Acal is a supplier of specialist technologies across Europe and South Africa, operating through three Divisions: Electronics, Supply Chain and Medical. The Electronics Division supplies electronic and photonic products to industrial manufacturing and design companies. The Supply Chain Division supplies IT spares and provides outsource solutions for technology service companies, while the Medical Division supplies advanced medical equipment to public and private healthcare providers. Acal has operating companies in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, South Africa, Spain and the Nordic region. Founded in 1986, Acal has developed into a major player in these product groupings through a combination of acquisition and organic growth.

In 2011, Acal has acquired Hectronic AB, a specialist provider of embedded computing technology to industrial electronic markets and based in Sweden. It has also acquired CompoTRON GmbH. a specialist provider of electronic communications components, based in Germany.

In 2009, Acal acquired the BFi Optilas group, a supplier of specialist electronic and photonic products.

Employing approximately 1,000 people, Acal offers particularly strong sales and marketing expertise. These skills enable it to focus on the demand creation and high standards of technical support which differentiate it from other distributors.
